Fabián Mendoza was born in 1966 in Mercedes, in the department of Soriano. His mother says that as a child, Fabián never stopped asking questions. He wanted to know the reason for everything. Mama Dori, to rest a little, would leave him in the library of the house from time to time. There, as a child, Fabián found a magical place to play with a world of answers and images. His father, with a di ...vine instinct, gave him crayons and kept the brown paper, the kind that they give you in the stores when you buy yerba mate or loose sugar. Fabián thus began to make his first drawings. Self-taught by nature, he says as an adult that his teacher Jaime Páres let him watch him paint, sharing his time and giving him brushstrokes of wisdom. The teacher told him: “Fabian, study everything you can and don’t stop playing.” At the age of 40, he settled in Montevideo, Uruguay. There he exhibited at different cultural events and held traveling exhibitions in his country and abroad. His works can be found in Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Chile, Peru, Mexico, Portugal, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Australia, Canada, Portugal, Egypt and the United States.
