Born in Montevideo and trained from a very young age in plastics arts and communication, Adriana Silva y Rosas cultivates painting and collage as the main techniques for the various topics of her interest. Her solo exhibitions, and the awards received in recent years, show the issues in which she has successfully ventured: her series Barcos de Papel expresses in an original way and a different la ...nguage a recurring theme of Uruguayan painting, rescuing fragments of memorabilia (plans, letters, photograhs and other personal treasures ) to enhace the subject. The recent exhibition Abstracciones testifies her skill to control color and forms rigorously, while her Cielos Óxidos, Mapamaris and Rosas de los Vientos series bring us her look to nature, with a recognizable and unique palette.
